Year 8 S.H.E.P Team
SMHS is proud to announce our first ever S.H.E.P. team!
12 Year 8 students were nominated by their peers as being good, positive leaders and role models who they would listen to in terms of advice and guidance on issues surrounding health. These 12 students took part on a two day training course ran by Entrust to develop their knowledge and skills about smoking and alcohol to become S.H.E.P. representatives.
The Staffordshire Health Educators Programme (S.H.E.P) is ran in schools all around Staffordshire and is ran by Year 8 students to send messages to their peers about not smoking or drinking alcohol as research has found that Year 8 is a common period of time where these behaviours can start.
We are extremely proud of our S.H.E.P. team and these students wear our S.H.E.P. badges with pride so students know that they can talk to them any time.
The S.H.E.P team are Gwennie Barker-Holland, Zak Brady, Lara Campbell, Taylor Draper, Lucy Kirkham, Callum Leighton, Jake Parsons, Jenna-May Stark, Rebecca Williams and Lily Worthington.
